When Bernie is denied her final cash pay from the underground tooth fairy boss, she races against the clock to secure one last tooth by midnight. But when confronted by the business-savvy tooth owner, young Lauren, Bernie realizes that everybody wants something and that snagging this tooth will be her biggest challenge of all.

Maria Gigante is a screenwriter and director living in Chicago. Her short film, Tooth & Nails, about a tooth fairy’s quest for one final tooth, premiered at the 2005 San Diego Girl Film Festival and continues to play around country. Her short scripts, Plotchkos and Petal Fall both were finalists in the 2005 American Gem Short Screenplay Competition. Her feature script, Eva Eva received the honor of second-round consideration for the 2006 Sundance Screenwriter’s Lab Feature Film Program and won 1st place in Columbia College Chicago’s 2006 Written Image Screenwriting Competition.

Maria’s latest film, Girls Room, is in post-production. Maria teaches Film Production and Screenwriting at Columbia College Chicago.
